Eden Locke Edinburgh Hotel Review + 15% Discount Code

The Everyday ManIn the past few years the hospitality scene in Edinburgh seems to have gone through quite a major renaissance.  This boom has seen the opening of a host of new hotels, bars and restaurants in the city.  Eden Locke is one such new opening, having arrived on George Street just a year ago now.

If you are new to the concept of Locke Hotels, then let me introduce you.  In essence they offer all of the features of a modern city apartment but with the convenience of a hotels service.  I’d stayed in their London outpost, ‘Leman Locke‘ a couple of times before and always really enjoyed my visits so I had been dying to check out what Eden Locke in Edinburgh had to offer.

As you enter Eden Locke’s beautifully restored Georgian building you find that the reception desk sits adjacent to ‘Hyde & Sons’, their coffee spot come bar.  Even if you’re not checking in for a stay at the hotel then I recommend dropping by here for a coffee (that’s if you can get a table. It was packed out every time I passed through.  The decor is dreamy and dare I say it, Instagram heaven.  Think washed out pastels, plants a plenty and bamboo furniture.  It’s a cool and light space.

The Everyday ManThe Everyday ManThe Everyday ManI checked into apartment 203, a mezzanine studio that overlooked George Street.  I absolutely loved the split level set up, it’s a great way of separating the living and sleeping space without the need of walls.  The room was colourful (a lot more so than the rooms at Leman Locke) and I thought they felt really homely.  It was a bit like staying in a super sleek and modern show apartment but one that was also comfortable and cosy.

As with all of the apartments at Locke Hotels, the living space came complete with a full kitchen (cooker, fridge, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher) as well as a dining table.  This makes it super easy to eat healthily (if you want to), which is something that can sometimes be difficult when staying away.

Central to the living space was of course the now iconic Locke Hotels corner sofa, served up by Eden Locke a pistachio green.  The TV has built-in Apple TV and Android mirroring too, so you can stream from your phone or device too.

The Everyday ManThe Everyday ManThe Everyday ManWhether you are travelling alone, or with a friend or partner, I think these cool, spacious and versatile apartments are perfect for just about any purpose.  They really have thought of just about anything and there are loads of little extras included like a bottle of milk in the fridge, T2 teabags a plenty and a yoga mat (in case you’re feeling like doing a little workout in the room). I really can’t recommend a stay enough.

Studio rooms at Eden Locke are priced from £105 and we are delighted to be able to offer all of The Everyday Man readers 15% off their next stay.  Just use the code LIVELOCKE when booking through the website below.
