When John Barbour crafted the first incarnation of a Barbour jacket for some local fishermen way back on 1894, if he ever in his wildest dreams imagined that 120 years on people the world over would be proudly wearing his brand. I doubt anyone could have predicted that kind of success.
Barbour is in 2014 still a much-loved brand that is proudly made in Britain – famed for quality, exceptional craftsmanship and timeless style. Of course 12o years in any market place is not flash in the pan, with changing styles and tastes. Different ranges like cutting edge Barbour International label have evolved to meet these ever-changing times.
For Spring Summer 2o14 the Barbour Heritage collection welcomes a collaboration with Savile Row tailors Norton & Sons and takes a design lead from the off duty traditional fishing and working villages along the Northumbrian coastline.
The Men’s International collection on the other hand takes inspiration from Barbour’s long and rich motorcycling heritage. The Barbour International GB Tourer capsule is a celebration of treasured memories of travelling around the British Isles by motorbike, taking in the sights and sounds along the way.
