If you’re looking for something to do this evening whilst on lockdown then we have just the thing for you!
This evening at 7.30pm, open your living room to three American cultural icons as New York born Häagen-Dazs celebrates the finale of its Secret Sofa partnership with Secret Cinema with a screening of the 1984 cult classic, Ghostbusters, famously set in New York.
So in tribute to this immortal film, Häagen-Dazs have collaborated with fellow American icon Jack Daniel’s to bring back the popular 80’s ice cream float by recreating their own spectral ‘Floatbuster’.
And with Ghostbusters Day on Monday 8th following on from the Secret Sofa screening on Friday, there’s no better time to show off this ‘ghostly gate’ version at home using Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream, Jack Daniel’s whiskey, cola and of course a liberal sprinkling of marshmallows for posterity to pay homage to one of the biggest and tastiest baddies in film history, Stay Puft a.k.a. Marshmallow Man!
How to make ‘The Floatbuster’
Ingredients:
1 large scoop Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream
50ml Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
125ml cola
Mini-marshmallows
Raspberry sauce
Method: Build the Jack Daniel’s & cola over cubed ice in a high ball glass and place the Häagen-Dazs vanilla scoop on top.
Garnish: Drizzle raspberry sauce on top of the ice cream and scatter with mini-marshmallows.
Ice cream, bourbon and retro movies sounds like the ultimate Friday evening indulgence to me! I can’t wait to taste the Floatbuster!
