Instagram has brought back the original app icon to celebrate its 10th birthday

Has it really been 10 years since the world first went wild for sharing photographs of their lunch with strangers via the Instagram app?

Time really flies indeed but those 10 years have seen Instagram evolve from a simple photo-sharing smartphone app to essentially become the slightly cooler little brother of Facebook.

To celebrate 10 years of Instagram a new ‘easter egg’ has been hidden in the settings which allows you to select from a range of alternate display icons for the app.

Users now have the choice of selecting from 13 icons for the Instagram app with options from the classic logo to various coloured options including a special Pride version.

How to get the Instagram Birthday Icons:

Open the Instagram app and navigate to the settings menu. Swipe down from the top until you see a series of birthday emojis appear. Wait for the confetti moment and then you’ll be given the option to select your new Instagram icon.
