Mitre is celebrating 30 years of an icon – the Ultimax, the ball that defined 90s Premier League football, with a slick modern reissue.
The Ultimax Pro 30th Anniversary Ball lands on 19th August, exactly three decades since its first kick-off in 1995. Built for today’s game but dripping in nostalgia, it’s a proper tribute to the original.
The Ultimax was the first ball to smash the 100mph barrier. The new version takes that energy further – Hyperflow grooves cut drag by 10% while new Hyperfoam cushioning adds more power and cleaner strikes than ever.
The look stays true to the 90s classic: six-panel construction, bold white, blue and red graphics, and a pearlised finish with metallic gold detailing. A crown and ‘95 infinity logo mark its timeless place in football history.
To launch it, Mitre drops ‘The Next In Line’, a campaign spotlighting Raphaella Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Ruben Butt (Salford City U18s) and Jacob Fowler – the next generation of football names, shot in vintage ’95/96 kits by Karis Beaumont.
With fewer than 400 balls being released, this one’s strictly for players, fans and collectors. The Ultimax Pro 30th Anniversary Ball is priced at £130 and available from 19th August at mitre.com and ProDirect.
