Muscle Food’s ‘Do The Unthinkable’ Programme Review + Discount Code

The Everyday ManI try to eat a pretty healthy diet most of the time but like anyone I can be tempted by sweet cravings and bouts of hunger.  When my gym training is going well these never bother me as much but of late I’ve been struggling to fit in as much fitness as I’d like so the deviations from my normal diet are starting to affect my body for the worse.

I’d live to be one of those people who are super organised and who takes the time to prep my meals for the week but in reality, that’s not me at all.  Instead I tend to be the guy running to the supermarket late in the afternoon to pick something up for tea.  The trouble with this is that by that point in the day I’m already pretty hungry and I often find myself being distracted by snacks, and the sweet smells in the store.

A couple of weeks back Muscle Food got in touch and asked if I’d like to try out their ‘Do The Unthinkable‘ programme for a couple of weeks and I thought it sounded like just the thing for me.  Essentially this is an interactive plan that not only provides you with your meals for a period of time but also provides support in the form of suggested workouts (via a DVD that’s included) and a private Facebook group where you can speak with a Personal Trainer and share stories with other people who are taking part.

When I put my mind to it (and with a little help from Dave my existing PT), my training is pretty decent, so I don’t need much help in that department, the big appeal about ‘Do the Unthinkable’ for me was the meal plan side of things.  You can either sign up for the 5, 6 or 7 day option depending on how strict you wish to be.  I’ve been going full pelt with the 7-day plan which comes in at £79 (£1.88 per meal) and so far, I’m really impressed!  This is literally the most hassle free and straight forward meal plan I’ve ever tried.

When you register, you answer a few questions about yourself (age. sex, weight etc) and then you select your goal (lose weight, tone up, gain lean muscle or get ripped) you’re then taken to a page where you select your meals.  You choose a meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day as well as a morning, afternoon and evening snack.  The first thing that I noticed is that it’s actually quite a lot of food and unlike some food plans, you are very unlikely to ever feel hungry.  I’m one week into it and I’ve not so far anyway.

The Everyday ManThe great thing about the meals is that there’s a huge option to choose from so you can essentially enjoy something different for every single one or if you’re a bit basic like me you can stick to the basic (but very fulfilling) chicken, veg and rice pots.  The only thing that I’d say is that I found the various rice pots to be tastier, less hassle and more filling than the stir fry options but that is maybe just my personal preference.  The stir fry packs have to be defrosted before cooking but the rice posts can be whacked straight into the microwave from frozen.  They even have these tasty protein pizzas as an option, which I absolutely loved.

I’m not really one for tracking my weight but after just a week I can see a visible difference around my waist and I feel less bloated (probably as I’ve stopped snacking on bread and sandwiches), so I can definitely feel that it’s making a difference.  I’ll definitely be keeping it going after this trial as I’ve been delighted with the food and results so far!
