It has only taken around 25 years but Nile Rodgers has just dropped a brand new CHIC single entitles ‘I’ll Be There’. Of course Nile Rodgers collaborated with Daft Punk on their comeback album and single ‘Get Lucky’ last year but this is the first new sound from CHIC that sounds every bit as funky as their releases from the 70s and 80s.
The new single is a collaboration with the legendary house producers the Martinez Brothers and sits right alongside the CHIC disco-funk sound that just makes you want to click those fingers and move your feet (I’m struggling to sit still now as I write this).
The music video (above) features supermodel Karlie Kloss as well as some vintage footage of CHIC performing on the classic television show Soul Train.
You can see CHIC + Nile Rodgers perform at th British Summertime gig this summer in London’s Hyde Park on Sunday June 21st joined by Kyle and Grace Jones.
