Is your outdoor living space ready for summer?

The World Cup is now well and truly underway and is the first in a series of huge sporting events to be taking place this summer.  If football is not your thing then there is sure to be something to wet your whistle from the array of sporting spectacles on offer.  Next week we will go tennis crazy once again as Wimbledon, the world’s oldest tennis tournament kicks off and Murray mania will no doubt sweep the nation once again.  Come mid-July it will be all about athletics as the 2014 Commonwealth games will be taking place in Glasgow.

With all of that already ongoing and in the pipeline, it really is the time to start thinking about your outdoor living space.  We are assured by the weather boffins that this summer is sure to be a good one for just about everyone on the British Isles (where have we heard that before).  We have teamed up with Dwell to take a look at some ways you can turn your outdoor living space into the perfect little haven for kicking back and relaxing or for entertaining your friends and family.

With pop-up outdoor cinemas cropping up all over the country how about setting up your own private garden cinema (if you have space) for watching the football or a classic film?  Of course, you would need a projector but aside from that you can use a sheet as a screen and add a few chairs and candles for a pretty unique and unforgettable experience.  Your guests will be blown away.

Bringing some music into the garden has never been easier thanks to this fantastic Harmony speaker cube stool with LED light from Dwell.  It not only acts as a Bluetooth speaker but uses built-in LED’s to offer an ambient colour changing light experience.  Perfect for setting the tone of a garden party then continues into the night.

During the summer months, your barbecue will become the focal point of your garden, no matter how big or small your outdoor space may be.  When you have guests over this is what you will be judged on most, well that and your selection of refreshments.  The general rule here is bigger is better that goes for the size of the barbecue unit itself and the meats you are throwing onto it.

The folding bbq grill from Dwell maintains a sturdy and premium feel with a masculine edge.  With its folding nature, you can also take it with you wherever you go this summer meaning it is 100% road trip ready too.  Make sure your guests have somewhere to sit down too with these robust chairs available in a variety of colours.  Their functional and sturdy design means you can switch them indoors for use out with the garden season.

Hopefully, we have given you a bit of inspiration to get outdoors and enjoy the summer.  The only thing we need now is the sun to stick around so that we can enjoy it.
