Do people still play board games?

Not sure why, but for some reason the other day I found myself watching Countdown.  It’s been years since I last did, and no big surprise I am still rather piss poor at it.  Anyway this got me thinking about retro board games.  Do people still play them?

With the arrival of the smartphone came a whole breed of online and app based games.  Many of the old school favourites have tried to modernise recently launching spin-off products, give me the board any day over a computerised version!  Here are my picks of the best retro family board games:
