Red Wing Brings Back the Logger Boot

Red Wing Heritage is celebrating its 120th anniversary by bringing back one of its most iconic designs, the 8 inch Logger Boot. This time the boot arrives in Rich Briar and Black Oil Slick leathers, a nod to the rugged style that has defined the brand since 1905.

First introduced in 1940, the Logger Boot was built for the logging industry and quickly became a staple for workers who demanded toughness, traction and durability. With its 90 degree heel and tall lace up design, the boot is more than just a piece of footwear. It is a symbol of the grit and determination that has always been central to Red Wing.

Logger boots have their roots in the Pacific Northwest where they were developed to give timber workers better stability on wet logs and uneven ground. By the late 1930s Red Wing had already created its own version with engineer boots designed for demanding jobs. The Logger followed soon after and became a mainstay across industries such as mining and forestry.

What makes the Logger stand out today is that it is as stylish as it is functional. Whether you are heading into the outdoors or styling them with denim for the city, these boots are built to keep up with your life and they will only look better with time.

The new Logger is made from Oil Tanned leather, a Red Wing signature that is water, stain and sweat resistant. This leather is minimally finished which gives each pair a natural look that is unique to its wearer. It is exceptionally durable and with a little care will last for years.

Underfoot the boots are equipped with Vibram’s TC4+ outsole. Red Wing first adopted Vibram lugs in 1961 for their traction in rough working conditions. The modern TC4+ compound has been upgraded for superior grip in wet and icy weather and improved comfort across long days.

The Logger Boot is available now at Red Wing London with an RRP of £349.
