Review: The Earl Polo by Original Penguin

Original Penguin are known for their distinctively retro take on menswear.  The label was founded in 1950’s America was instantly associated with golf wear.  Fast forward 60 and a bit years and the little penguin brand is not only seen on the golfing greens but on the chests of guys everywhere.

The Earl’ polo shirt is a signature Penguin design.  The navy version with its white piping and detailing has a classic nautical feel about it which is bang on trend for spring/summer fashion as surprise surprise nautical is back for 2013.  The great thing about penguin polo’s is that they can be dressed up or down.  The cotton pique material and fitted silhouette mean they look great team with shorts or a smarter look.

Personally I love the material used in The Earl as it feels nice to wear.  As far as the design goes I would take his little brother ‘The Earl Rogue‘ over the original style.  The Rogue has a smaller collar design with less harsh trim and looks better on a smaller guy.  Both The Earl and The Earl Rogue are available for £55 from Original Penguin.

Original Penguin have based their Spring/Summer 2013 video lookbook in music city itself, Nashville, TN.  Check it out below:
