Three focal point ideas to upgrade your man cave

If your space needs an upgrade, it can be tough to find where to start.

Let’s take a look at ways to create a focal point in your room that could be the starting point for a complete overhaul or provides the spark your man cave has been missing.

Install a light display

This is an easy way to amp up your space and transform it into something totally new.

Colourful LED strips as a backlight for your mounted TV and gaming system are easy to install and are very cost-effective. It’s a cool customisable effect that can change with your mood. From simple remote-controlled versions to smartphone apps, your colour scheme is in your hands.

Add an aquarium

Studies have shown that watching fish can help reduce stress levels and high blood pressure, an aquarium will add a tranquil, but kick-ass vibe, to any room.

Choose from an array of colourful fish and aquatic plants. A large, long tank gives your fish plenty of space as well as creating a bigger display. You’ll definitely want some expert advice on your set-up, so make sure to find a knowledgeable supplier like  Finerfilters to sustain the vitality of your aquarium.

Create a gallery wall

A gallery wall is a great way to showcase collectables, or if you are a model builder, highlight your favourite builds. Make your interest a talking point rather than keeping it tucked away in boxes.

Floating shelves are an excellent option for objects. They are easy to install and give the added benefit of letting you replace or rearrange your collection with ease. Find ones with a lip at the front, and you can also use them to display framed pictures, programmes or posters – perfect for avoiding nail holes in your walls.

Make it yours

Don’t be afraid to add your own spin to any of these ideas. Get as creative or minimal as you want. Feel free to mix these ideas together to make a space that reflects your personality and is one you want to spend time in.
