Toasting the End of Summer with Glenmorangie at Connect Festival

The roars of music, laughter, and interconnected souls echoed through Edinburgh this past weekend as the city welcomed revellers to Connect Festival 2023. Bathed in the last golden rays of summer, the event was a heady mix of rhythm, tastes, and unforgettable experiences.

Headlining the festival on Saturday evening was none other than the exceptionally talented Fred again. He set the stage ablaze with his thrilling performance, creating an electric atmosphere of unity and celebration. He even treated the crowd to the first live performance of his new track. It really was something special.

Whether you were seeking intense guitar riffs, soothing acoustic melodies, or engaging spoken word performances, Connect had a stage for everyone! Confidence Man brought their infectious energy to the Guitars and Other Machines stage, unleashing a wave of exhilarating beats that had festival-goers dancing their hearts out. Optimo had the Unknown Pleasures stage bouncing and the former Scottish Act of the Year, BEMZ put on an energetic performance at the Gardener’s Cottage. An acoustic stage in support of the charity Tiny Changes.

But Connect wasn’t just about the music. The festival also showcased a robust food and drink offering that catered to every palate. From juicy gourmet burgers to vegan delights, the gastronomy was as diverse and vibrant as the crowd itself.

An exclusive Glenmorangie Lounge added a touch of luxury to the event. Here, festival-goers could savour delicious whisky cocktails, masterfully crafted to perfection while taking in panoramic views of Connect’s main stage. These exquisite concoctions were enjoyed against a backdrop of music in the Glenmorangie Lounge provided by top DJs, including the renowned Billy Woods.

As the sun set and the stars took over, the air was filled with an enchanting mix of whisky infused laughter, hypnotic music, and the sheer joy of being in the moment. Indeed, Connect Festival was a celebration of the end of summer as much as it was a testament to the enduring spirit of music, food, and shared experiences.
