What should you wear to a formal dinner?

So a dinner invite drops into your inbox.  If you are anything like me a few minutes after the initial excitement passes comes the ‘what should I wear?’ dread.  Depending on the type of dinner event and the impression you are hoping to make on arrival will, of course, affect your choice of ensemble.  If it’s a work do you may go for a slightly more conservative look than at a more social gathering for example.

The good news is that Premium by Jack & Jones has just launched their Style Advisory which aims to provide you with some inspiration on how to dress for a series of social engagements.  The looks have been created by three prestigious European fashion editors. Teo van den Broeke, associate editor at Esquire UK, Fabian Hart, former GQ Germany editor, and Frederik Andersen, fashion director of Danish men’s magazine Euroman.

Teo was tasked with piecing together the perfect ‘formal diner’ look from the Premium by Jack & Jones range and I must admit I am a fan of his finished outfit which teams an unconstructed blazer with a thin jumper, formal shirt and pair of well-cut trousers.  The look is bound to get you noticed by for all the right reasons.  The textures and materials provide a formal look that is also comfortable to wear – a big bonus at as these can often be a little too long-lasting!

Do you think you could give the experts a run for their money with a look of your own?  Well, listen up as JACK & JONES are also running a competition in stores, judged by the Style Advisory panel…

Head down to your nearest Jack & Jones store and style yourself in PREMIUM by JACK & JONES clothes then upload a picture via Instagram with the hashtag #styleadvisory.  Four lucky winners will get to go on a trip to a big city, enjoying a 700 Euro’s to spend on the collection.
