Its origins, as you may know, date back to the game of tennis. The French superstar tennis player Rene Lacoste was getting frustrated by the restrictive uniform of the game in those days (known as tennis whites) and wanted to compete in something that made movement a lot easier. The polo shirt seemed like the perfect option. It was still very smart looking with its collar and sleeve detail but also sporty and most importantly more appropriate for playing tennis.
Available in sizes for men, women and kids, you start by selecting your style. You can choose from the classic short-sleeved polo, the slim-fit polo or the long-sleeved option. It’s then up to you to decide on the colours of the main body, the collar and the sleeve trim. Me being me, I went for white on white on white but switched things up with a black crocodile instead of the signature green style. I think it looks great and I’m sure it will be a staple of my summer wardrobe.
Your polo shirt is then made in France and delivered to you within 15 days. It all comes in a really sleek Lacoste presentation box so would make an excellent gift.
We’ve teamed up with Lacoste to offer one lucky reader on of the personalised polo shirts worth £100. To enter the draw simply leave your details below and don’t forget to follow Lacoste on Instagram for a bonus entry into the draw.
