SS14 see’s a new collaboration between 55DSL, Arkitip, Birkenstock and artist Aaron De La Cruz. This melting pot of creatives and boundary challenging brands was bound to come up with something special and here it is. The capsule collection features the iconic Birkenstock sandal and has also inspired a new t-shirt and sweat.
You will already recognise the Birkenstock Monterey sandal as a classic summer design with unparalleled support and comfort. The art inspired look of this particular model of course stands out from the traditionally more classic colour options associated with Birkenstock. Aaron De La Cruz has worked his magic on the ankle and midfoot straps and added his instantly recognisable prints. These are teamed with hand-applied white paint splatters which act as the key accent of each pair. The individual paint splats of course mean no 2 pairs will be exactly alike.
A piece of art in their own right…
The band of collaborating brands have their logo’s stamped into the footbed of the sandal as a mark of quality.
The collection is available to buy from Hypebeast and 55DSL.
