When I first heard the new AVICII track ‘Wake Me Up’ I instantly thought ‘What the eff is that?’ but after a few more listens I love it. The single has been likened to a Mumford & Sons remix…nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
‘Wake Me Up’ opens to a catchy banjo sounding folk backing rift but is mixed with an electro beat. It sure is a different direction for the producer and absolutely nothing like his flagship track ‘Levels’ but will still be a guaranteed club favourite.
AVICII continues to stay at the foreground of the scene with this experimental track that works just perfectly. The Swedish DJ takes up a Sunday residency at Ushuaia Ibiza all summer long.
