Clarks Original Shoes really do have some tip-top classic styles for Autumn. So with the weather this week turning well and truly autumnal, we decided to take a look at some of the latest styles from Clarks Originals Shoes at Mainline Menswear.
The Clarks Originals desert boot has been treading the pavements since it was first created by Nathan Clark way back in 1949. Old enough to be my grandfather it may be but this boot still maintains a sense of youthful elegance with a simple smart silhouette that never seems to date. The more recent cut-down addition to the Clarks Originals family is the Desert London Shoe (featured image) and is a real favourite of mine for Autumn. The suede brown cola colour option is a staple item that can be easily dressed up or down as required.
There is more to the Originals story than the desert boots. This year they bring back the ‘Wallabee’ style and welcome the reintroduction of the ‘Jink’. The ‘JInk’ was first released in 1982 and is based on the classic Desert Boot but has a lower fit.
In recent years Clarks have worked with a whole host of designers and brands on projects to add some modern appeal to the Originals range. The collection has seen bright colours, new materials like patent and patterns being used in the traditional styles. In my opinion, the classics should be left alone. the fact that these shoes have been around over 80 years and still remain in style proves the point that they don’t require tweaking.
Adding a pair to your wardrobe this Autumn will be a wise investment as they are sure to become a regular fixture on your feet for many seasons to come.
