David Rodigan Teams Up With Defected for House Of Roots EP

David Rodigan MBE is bringing his reggae roots to the house scene with a new three-track EP on Defected Records.

Titled House Of Roots, the project sees the legendary DJ and broadcaster rework three Defected classics alongside Shy FX, CLIPZ and Prince Fatty, bringing reggae and dancehall influences into a series of dub-inflected house reworks.

The project follows Rodigan’s first appearance at Defected Croatia in 2025, where his set marked the beginning of a relationship with the label. He returned for this year’s festival finale, this time taking the House Of Roots remixes with him.

The three-track release will arrive on streaming and download, alongside a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl box set.

House Of Roots lands on Friday 23 October 2026, with the limited-edition vinyl box set available to pre-order now.

For Rodigan, whose career has spanned more than four decades, the project brings together two sides of his musical world, adding another chapter to his work as a DJ, broadcaster and tastemaker.
