Diageo has created the worlds first whisky bottle made from paper

There’s a reason that Johnnie Walker remains the world’s number one Scotch Whisky. While they continue to produce their iconic and instantly recognisable blends, they are not afraid of embracing the new.

This week, Diageo who own the Johnnie Walker brand along with the likes of Smirnoff Vodka, Tanqueray Gin and Guinness has unveiled the world’s first 100% plastic-free, paper-based spirits bottle, made entirely from sustainably sourced wood.

The new bottle will debut in 2021 under the Johnnie Walker brand in a partnership with Pulpex Limited.

Pulpex Limited has developed a ‘first-of-its-kind’ scalable paper-based bottle designed and developed to be 100% plastic-free and expected to be fully recyclable. The bottle is made from sustainably sourced pulp and will be fully recyclable.

It sounds pretty ace to us!
