Essential Men’s Spring Footwear Styles

Desert bootsAs we head towards Spring it is time to start thinking about shaking up your footwear.  Although still cold and most likely wet the temperatures are on the up (slightly) so there is less of a need for your big old winter boots and wellies.  On the other hand, it’s not quite warm or pleasant enough to break out the gladiator sandals eh?  So what should you be wearing on your feet then?

Desert Boots

A firm spring favourite of ours and a style that never ever looks out of date.  The great thing about a desert boot is the versatile nature of the style, not quite casual and not quite formal they can easily be included in lots of looks from the weekend city look through to a chilled dinner look for the evening (maybe opting for a darker colour ie black in this case).

Brogues

Again Brogues are of course a bit of an all year round shoe but as a transitional choice, they are perfect.  The sturdy makes up of the brogue makes them ideal for wet conditions.  In recent years the resurgence in popularity if this style has seen a lot of designers placing emphasis on the brogue as a key piece from their collections.  The high street is beaming with brogues but I suggest having a look at the range in Jones Bootmaker as they stock some great quality brands like Loake and Barker.

For Spring perhaps switch the leather for suede.  They maintain the smart look but add a softer touch which is perfect for the better weather.

Trainers

I live in trainers no matter what the season really but for Spring into summer it is time to start thinking about a decent pair of white leather sneakers.  It is of course now the done thing to team trainers with tailoring as well as sportswear so these are a pretty flexible choice that will serve you across many looks. Opt for a classic converse, some white adidas superstars or stan smiths
