If you’re headed over soon, and fancy hittin up some new spots this year then make sure you check out Franky Wah’s top Ibiza recommendations below…

What’s your favourite place in Ibiza to party?

I can’t answer this honestly and not say SHÈN on Sundays at Club Chinois! The addition of this club to the Ibizan roster has been a game changer for me; there really is no club in the world I feel more at home in. The sound, production, and performers are world-class, and the intimate feel of it just brings out the best and most diverse crowd on the island, in my opinion. When I’m not in Club Chinois, I still love a night out at Pikes and love what they’re doing up at Akasha in the north of the island too.

When you get some time to chill, which beach are you heading to?

Every time I go to Ibiza, I seem to find a new favourite beach. Explore the north of the island and you can’t really go wrong. Every beach up there seems to have an amazing chiringuito attached to it too. Benirrás is a good place to start if you’ve never been to the north before. Really nice, mixed crowd and instantly relaxing.

Can you suggest a cool activity away from the madness of the Ibiza party scene?

The legend that is Danny Whittle, who runs Club Chinois, does a weekly hike with a big group of locals that me and my crew try to tag along to whenever we’re on the island. Getting away from the madness and walking through tranquillity with lovely people is such a leveller and is always topped off with a little swim along the way.

Do you have a go-to breakfast dish or top hangover cure?

I base myself on the island over the summer, so I always make sure the fridge is well-stocked with healthy, local produce so I can keep a decent diet over the summer. Waking up and having breakfast on my own terrace after a long night out always helps to get things back on track.

Where do you go to swim?

As with the beaches, this changes every time I go, but I loved swimming at Cala Xarraca last summer and will definitely be going back this year!

Where is your perfect spot to watch the famous Ibiza sunset?

If you’re staying on the sunset strip side of the island (San Antonio area) and want to avoid the crowds of Mambo and Café del Mar, then head up the coast a little bit and book a table at Hostel La Torre. Amazing food, views, and music.

What’s the one top tip that you’d share with visitors to Ibiza?

Explore! You don’t always have to have a perfectly planned out itinerary; just get in a car or on a bike, follow your nose, and try to see all four corners of the island. Try to avoid all the obvious places and just be adventurous. I’ve spent a lot of time on the island at this point, but there is still so much I discover every time I’m there. I love just setting off with no plan and seeing where the day takes me. You’ll never be disappointed you made the effort.
