The Friday Five: Men’s Luxury Trainer Brands

It wasn’t really all that long ago you wouldn’t expect to see the words luxury and trainers in the same sentence.  That was of course before the arrival of the Sports Luxe phenomenon.  Nowadays all of the worlds leading designers of haute couture include a premium trainer within their collection which has turned a piece of footwear more commonly associated with the gym into something more red carpet worthy.

If you are have decided to splash the cash on a trainer with a little bit of a difference from the high street brands then take a look at these luxury trainer brands which we have rounded up in this weeks Friday Five…

Axel Arigato

Axel Arigato is an Independent Swedish footwear brand which only started out in 2014 but has already become a mainstay of the luxury trainer market.  In 2015 they released a new design every week (yes 52 styles) and continue to go from strength to strength into 2016.

Their signature low profile Platform style is available in men’s and ladies and in a variety of colours and premium uppers.  Look out for some limited edition styles coming this Spring/Summer.

Blood Brother

Blood Brother is a particular favourite brand of mine.  They are manufactured in Europe and use some of the finest materials around from premium leathers to soft suede and nubuck.  Like a lot of the premium labels, they are not branded with the labels logo anywhere but feature an oversized tab at the rear the words ‘Never Alone’ (their motto) which stands out pretty nicely.

Common Projects

Common Projects hail from New York City and combine the quality Italian craftsmanship with contemporary design.  The clean and classic silhouettes have proven to be a hit and the brand has now grown a very solid fanbase across the world.

The signature Achilles Low style from their collection is probably one of the best-selling luxury trainers on the market.

Filling Pieces

The absolute epitome of dutch coolness, Filling Pieces are a luxury trainer brand of the streetwear variety.  Their slick contemporary designs for SS16 come in soft tones of nudes and whites – perfect for sunnier climates if you are lucky enough to be heading away.

Y3

You have probably heard of this one.  Y3 are the Japanese hybrid label from adidas and designer Yoshi Yamamoto who some well-known designs with twists and premium fabrics to add a very Y3 distinction from the mainstream adidas lines.

theeverydayman

The Everyday Man was launched back in 2012 and has grown to become one of the leading online men’s lifestyle publications. We cover all aspects of men’s interests and lifestyle, including health and fitness, travel, fashion, technology, arts and culture, music, grooming and cars.
