Glenmorangie has unveiled its latest limited-edition whisky, A Tale of Ice Cream, as part of its renowned “Tale Of” series. Inspired by the indulgent flavours of an ice cream parlour, this new expression promises to bring back memories of your favourite frozen treats. With tasting notes of vanilla, peach melba, coconut, and lemon sorbet, the whisky offers a decadent and creamy experience for both seasoned whisky drinkers and newcomers alike.
The creative minds behind this release, Dr Bill Lumsden and master blender Gillian Macdonald, focused on amplifying Glenmorangie’s signature vanilla notes, enhancing them with specially treated casks. The result is a whisky that mimics the creamy sweetness of ice cream, making it a one-of-a-kind addition to Glenmorangie’s imaginative collection.
In line with the Tale Of series’ playful and unconventional approach, A Tale of Ice Cream is a no-age-statement whisky, bottled at 46% ABV. This move allows Glenmorangie to shift the focus from traditional markers to the story and experience behind the whisky. As Macdonald explained, the series aims to connect emotionally with consumers by tapping into the nostalgic and universal love of ice cream.
A Tale of Ice Cream follows in the footsteps of previous releases such as A Tale of Cake, A Tale of Winter, and A Tale of the Forest. Each release highlights the distillery’s focus on creativity and sensory storytelling, making Glenmorangie a leader in innovative whisky production.
Priced at £76, the limited-edition whisky is available online, at Glenmorangie’s distillery in Tain, and select retailers. To add to the experience, Glenmorangie has collaborated with Scottish knitwear designer Donna Wilson to create A Tale of Ice Cream-themed lambswool sweaters, which are also available at the distillery visitor centre.
For those looking to indulge their sweet tooth and experience a new side of whisky, A Tale of Ice Cream offers a perfect combination of flavours and memories in every sip.
