Glitterbox at Amnesia: Where Everyone Comes to Dance

Grace Jones Glitterbox at Amnesia Ibiza during the 2026 season

I stopped by Glitterbox at Amnesia on 24 July, and it didn’t take long to understand why this remains one of the most unique parties on the Ibiza schedule.

Now in its first season at Amnesia, Glitterbox has brought its particular mix of disco, house, flamboyant dancers and unapologetic fun to one of Ibiza’s most iconic clubs. After experiencing it first hand, it’s difficult to think of a better match. Part of what makes Glitterbox so unique is the crowd it attracts. Ibiza can sometimes feel surprisingly segmented, but Glitterbox seems to ignore all of that. On this particular night there were 18 year olds turning up to see Armand Van Helden alongside people closer to 70, all there for exactly the same reason: to enjoy the music and have a good time.

That freedom extends to the dress code too. There’s plenty of colour, sequins, statement looks and outfits that might feel like too much elsewhere but seem completely at home here. The atmosphere is friendly and there’s very little of the self conscious posing that can sometimes creep into Ibiza nightlife. People are there to dance, and the dancefloor genuinely feels like the centre of the party. The music plays a huge part in that, moving effortlessly between disco classics and house, with Armand Van Helden, Bellaire and The Shapeshifters keeping the Terrace moving throughout the night.

Amnesia at 50

What pushes it over the line, though, is the production. Amnesia is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and remains at the forefront of Ibiza clubbing by putting music first and largely avoiding gimmicks. Glitterbox is perhaps the exception. Dancers, confetti cannons and a whole lot of colour make the Terrace feel almost theatrical, but it works because it’s completely in keeping with Glitterbox’s DNA. When the confetti comes flying across the dancefloor as the music drops, it doesn’t feel excessive. It feels exactly right.

The two rooms pull in different directions: the Terrace is the larger space where the production really goes into overdrive, while the smaller Main Room feels darker, more intimate and a little heavier. This was my first time seeing Natasha Diggs, and she absolutely set the Main Room on fire. On early in the evening, she brought huge energy, a fabulous outfit and a good selection of disco that immediately got the room moving. It was the perfect way to set the tone for the night ahead, and by the time I headed back to the Terrace, the party was already in full swing.

Grace Jones Takes the Terrace

The highlight, however, was always going to be Grace Jones on the Terrace. A musician, fashion icon and club culture legend, her appearance felt almost tailor made for Glitterbox. She delivered some of her biggest hits before treating the crowd to a series of signature costume changes, adding another memorable layer to an already extravagant night.

Ultimately, that’s what makes Glitterbox work so well at Amnesia. The two brands might appear very different, but both understand that a great club night is ultimately about what happens on the dancefloor. Amnesia provides the history, scale and sound. Glitterbox brings the colour, performers, confetti and a soundtrack that moves between disco and house.

The result is a party that feels welcoming, flamboyant without taking itself too seriously and, most importantly, genuinely fun. In an Ibiza schedule packed with big names and elaborate productions, Glitterbox isn’t trying to be the coolest party on the island. It just wants you to have a bloody good time.

Glitterbox runs at Amnesia every Friday until 9 October 2026.
