The Italian language is a beautiful thing. Culaccino, is a single word that describes the mark left on a table by cold glass. In English we’d simply call it a watermark.
The fact is Italians just do things with style. When they make cars they are fast and red. When they play football they are passionate and flamboyant. And when they make a beer it’s well…stylish!
Not so long ago beer was everything other than fashionable. How times change. This week saw the launch of The House of Peroni Residency, Peroni Nastro Azzurro’s annual event delivering a healthy dose of Italian lifestyle and culture to London.
Not satisfied with simply throwing a lavish bash, Peroni are taking over the Proud East venue for whole six weeks. Entitled ‘Amare l’Italia’ meaning ‘For the love of Italy’ the Italian brand has ensured Italian authenticity by collaborating with a number of influential ambassadors, including designer Margherita Maccapani Missoni and the critically acclaimed Francesco Mazzei, chef patron at newly refurbished Satoria in Mayfair.
The venue will host a bespoke series of events including mixology classes, Italian culinary masterclasses and private dining experiences, or if like me you’d prefer to just relax with a cold bottle and try and look a little more “alla moda” then the bar’s open until Friday 1st July.
Booking are available on the The House of Peroni website –www.thehouseofperoni.com.
The House of Peroni takes up residence at Proud East, 2-10 Hertford Road, London, N1 5SH
