The Aperol Spritz is a refreshing and vibrant cocktail that’s perfect for sipping on a warm summer day. It’s a classic Italian aperitif made with Aperol, prosecco, and soda water. Making the perfect Aperol Spritz requires a bit of finesse, but with a few simple steps, you can create a delicious and perfectly balanced cocktail that will impress your guests.
Last month I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Campari Academy in London to learn the perfect Aperol Serve from their UK brand ambassador so I thought that I would share what I learned with you…just in time for the summer spritz season arriving.
To start, you’ll need to fill a wine glass with ice. Add 3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, and 1 part soda water. Stir gently to combine the ingredients, taking care not to overmix and lose the effervescence of the soda water.
Next, garnish the cocktail with a slice of orange. This not only adds a pop of colour to the drink but also complements the citrusy notes in the Aperol.
When it comes to serving, it’s important to use a wine glass rather than a highball or rocks glass. This allows the ingredients to mix more evenly and showcases the beautiful colour of the cocktail.
Remember to use quality ingredients to ensure the perfect Aperol Spritz. Opt for a high-quality prosecco and fresh soda water to really bring out the flavours of the Aperol.
