Introducing the new Citizen Promaster Navihawk GPS Watch Series

I like 2 kinds of watches, either I want them super striped back and classic or I want something at the other end of the spectrum. The Eco-Drive Satellite Wave was first launched by Citizen back in 2011 and is most definitely at that opposite end of the spectrum.  It was the first watch of its kind with an ability to sync with GPD satellites in space.

Earlier this year, Citizen announced the latest addition to their Promaster series – thePromaster Navihawk GPS watch which builds on the innovation and durability of the original but takes things to a whole new level.  We managed to get a little peak at the latest watch to check out the latest features it offers  before it was launched!

The speed of the satellite signal reception (which is as quick as 3 seconds) means that the new Promaster Navihawk GPS has worldwide accuracy in 40 time zones on cross the globe.  As well as that it also offers a perpetual calendar and a 1/20 second chronograph measuring up to 24-hours, plus a pilot’s rotating slide rule bezel.

There is 2 new variations of the Promaster Naivhawk. The first style is shown above (CC9030-51E RRP £995) and it comes with a robust 47mm stainless steel case which is off-set perfectly with a textured black dial, incorporating hints of vibrant green as points of interest on three dominant sub-dials.  As a bit of a clumsy guy myself the feature that most caught my eye of this watch was the scratch resistant sapphire crystal which will keep it looking great!

The second of the new releases (CC9025-85E RRP £1395) is probably my favourite as it boasts a slick monochrome look, with Citizen’s proprietary Super TitaniumTM achieving five times the hardness of stainless steel for superior durability under the harshest conditions. A Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) + MRK coated case and bracelet completes the look.
