Unlocking London with Santander Cycles

Earlier this month I kick-started an exciting new partnership with Santander Cycles that will see me getting out to explore my favourite places (old & new) in London this summer by bike!

Although I don’t actually live in London myself my work brings me to the capital on pretty much a weekly basis.  I generally spend my time in the city dashing from meeting to the meeting using the tube and as such I miss the chance to see much of the place or get much fresh air.  On top of that, I find it hard to squeeze in time to run or sometimes get to the gym at all so at least I feel a little better knowing that I’m putting my body through its paces on my Santander Cycle commute too!

By opting to use the bike as my first choice this summer I’m already looking forward to unlocking London and exploring and finding some new hideaways that I will of course share with you on Instagram as I come across them so make sure that you are following me.

If you have yet to use a Santander Cycle then you will have at least seen their bike stations absolutely everywhere within the city. They are located in parks, outside stations, along the river, in fact, I doubt you could walk more than a couple of minutes in London without seeing one – that’s what makes them so convenient and easy to use.

Once you have signed up online for a Santander Cycle account you can very quickly select a parked bike and you are ready to Unlock London!

To kick off this new summer partnership I was invited all the way up to the top of The Shard in London recently to take part in a very special one-off Boom Cycle class.  I bravely battled my fear of heights to make it all the way up to viewing gallery on the top floor of London’s tallest building for the early morning fitness class.

I’m really glad I did as the unspoilt views from up there were absolutely amazing and taking them in in the midst of the Boom Cycle class was pretty surreal but absolutely unforgettable.

The Boom Cycle class at the top of The Shard was the first in a series of special Santander Cycles events that are taking place across the summer.
