Massimi Dutti AW13
Summer may still be in full swing but it is never too early to start shopping for the season ahead. An essential item of clothing for Autumn is, of course, a new jacket. We have taken a look at some of the styles that will be hitting the shelves in the next couple of months.
As ever in menswear, the classics are back in abundance for AW13 with brands like Moncler and Belstaff offering a string collection of outerwear. A hooded gilet is my personal favourite Autumn item of clothing, these are great on changeable days and look great if you are going for a casual weekend look.
Biker jackets are another option that will again feature heavily in the men’s designer jacket collections of many of the big hitters. YSl, AllSaints and The Kooples have some really nice pieces of outerwear this year. The shorter silhouette of this style means you can start wearing it now and continue right through into Autumn.
If you are on the lookout for an Autumn jacket that will see you through to winter and become a well-worn piece from your wardrobe for many years to come then you could consider investing in a Belstaff Roadmaster waxed cotton jacket. Priced at around £550 this is not a cheap jacket but one that will last you for years and I mean years.
My top tip when considering a new jacket is to think classic but on-trend. Avoid bright seasonal colours that will fade from fashion just like the season itself. Buy clever and you will reap the rewards season after season.
