Jaeger introduce the UK’s first machine-washable Merino Suit

For the first time ever in the UK, Jaeger have introduced a new Italian wool suit into their collection, which is fully washing machine friendly.

Machine washable suits are nothing new and are found all along the high street but the thing that sets the new Jaeger tailoring collection apart from those others is the uncompromised design, modern style and the premium quality of the fabric.

As I unpacked it, I was blown away by the exceptionally soft wool flannel, which remains that way even after a wash cycle.  It’s worth popping into your local store and trying one on or just giving it a little rub, I’m sure you will be as surprised as I was by the quality.

To craft these new suits Jaeger looked to Milan where the cloth has been woven from luxury Italian wool, using a combination of craft traditions and technological innovation which ensures the best results.  It’s lightweight and durable too which takes away the risk of any puckering.

I really like the modern cut too, it’s slim but not too skinny and the unstructured style means that they can be dressed up with a shirt and tie or worn as a separate.  I like to keep things simple so I teamed my navy suit with a white linen shirt from Jaeger and bright white adidas Stan Smith trainers.  In the better weather, the trousers look great on their own too when worn with a simple white t-shirt.

Even the clumsiest of you out there can ensure that you always look on point by following the simple washing and drying instructions – your suit will always look as good as new.
