Make the most of the British Summer

The days have already started getting shorter as we are heading in the direction of Autumn. While you still have time we have put together some ideas to make the most of the British Summer…

Go for a walk

I know it sounds like something you get dragged into with your family on Boxing Day but going for a proper walk can be amazing. It’s a great way to see some of the Great British outdoors, get some exercise and hopefully soak up some sunshine. There are endless places to explore such as Scotland, the Lake District and the Brecon Beacons to name but a few. You can take in incredible landscapes and wildlife, all up close and personal. Get out there and get exploring! Just make sure you take note of the next tip…

Be Prepared!

There’s so much to do outside in the summer, but with the British weather always on the turn, you need to be prepared to deal with rain as well as shine. You don’t want to bring along an umbrella that you just end up carrying around all day, so instead, it’s important to invest in the right gear. E-Outdoor makes all the lightweight weather-proof kit you could need in a range of designs from minimalist black to cool colour block designs. There’s no reason you can’t look good and stay dry! Proper footwear is also a must, especially if you do decide to go for that walk. Flip flops just aren’t going to cut it if you’re tackling rough terrain.

Camp at Festivals

With all the hype about ‘glamping’ this festival season people have lost sight of the simple joy of camping in a muddy field and having a fully immersive festival experience. Arriving and struggling with a new tent you’ve never put up before is all part of the fun, and even though it can be a bit infuriating at the time it will help to make it a truly memorable experience. And it’s definitely better than ending up with a leaky tent dragged out of the garage! If you’re after a compromise between the two, many festivals offer a quiet camping area. That way you can head back to your tent after a long day of music for a bit of rest – you’ll need it to do it all again tomorrow.

Get Out There

Whatever the weather and wherever you decide to go, a music festival or the mountains, just get out there! With the right kit and the right attitude, you can have an amazing time whether it’s pouring with rain or glorious sunshine.
