On May 29th 1953 Sir Edmond Hilary and Tenzing Norgay became the first men to successfully conquer the beast that is Mount Everest. This year see’s the 60th anniversary of this amazing achievement.
In honour of the anniversary Mamont Vodka are running their own cocktail expedition aptly titled ‘Everest 60’. Mamont Vodka will be hosting the “Everest 60 Expedition” at the Megaro Hotel, London, on the 25th June, where top Bartenders and Barbacks will be invited to discover the route to the first Mamont Vodka signature serve.
We have been set the challenge by Mamont to create our own cocktail which encapsulates the ‘Spirit of Adventure’ shown by the climbers of Everest. With Mamont originating from the harsh enviroment that is Siberia we got to work trying to think of a drink that appropriately sits alongside this theme. Not being big cocktail drinkers normally this was a challenge, a fun challenge but a challenge none the less.
In the end we have opted for a ‘Siberian Berry Slush’. You can make one for yourself by following our receipe below…
You will need: 2 small cups of frozen berry mix, 1 cup of ice cubes, Juice of 1/2 a lemon, 2 shots of Mamont Vodka, 1 Shot of peach schnapps and 2 tablespoons of sugar syrup, spring of mint to garnish.
Now for thee science bit…I hope you are paying attention…Blend all your ingredients for 60 seconds until slushy then serve! Voila!
