Review: MASH (Modern American Steak House)

It’s not very often these days that you can walk away from a restaurant feeling genuinely satisfied with the meal you’ve had. I generally stick to a non-adventurous burger no matter where I end up eating.  Recently though, I was fortunate enough to dine at MASH, one of the best (possibly THE best) steak houses in London.

Modern American Steak House (or MASH to me and you) first opened its doors back in 2012 on Brewer street in the Soho borough of the city.  Since then, it has been wowing its visitors with its broad wine and cocktail menu as they settle into the Art Deco surroundings, reminiscent of 1920’s New York.  I think it is worth a visit to check out the immaculate decor alone!

Of course, what we were really interested in was their steaks… And they didn’t disappoint.  We opted for the rump and the sirloin (sticking to what we know) with a selection of classic sides.  The meat was truly incredible.  It was perfectly cooked to order, tender and melted in your mouth.  You don’t have to be an expert to appreciate great food when its placed in front of you! Not only were the food and drinks great, but the service was also top notch.  Nothing was too much trouble, A trait that is often lost in many restaurants these days.

If you’re in the area or you’re stuck for somewhere to wine and dine in style, be sure to give MASH a thought. You won’t regret it!
