Mark & Spencer don’t usually feature at the top of my shopping list unless I am on the hunt for some fancy food to impress at a dinner party. The M&S Best of British collection could however be about to change all that.
Just before Christmas I was contacted by their menswear team and asked if I would like to participate in a little project which would result in me being sent a lovely gift – how could I say no? One of the menswear buyers was challenged to determine my style and select the ‘perfect gift’ for me.
And what a good job they done. A few days later a classic Best of British pure wool fair isle jumper landed on my doorstep. A beautifully soft crew neck jumper with a ribbed trim. A really nice smart casual item that will perfectly sit over a white oxford and slim jeans.
The M&S Best of British range is a three-year tie in with the British Fashion Council that will see M&S source the finest materials from around the country – a truly made in British collection. If this is a sign of the design and quality to come I may be seeing a little more of the M&S menswear department in the coming months.
