It’s a pretty exciting time for P&O Cruises as next year will see the arrival of their largest and newest ship, Iona.
The arrival of Iona doesn’t mean that the cruise line has forgotten about their other ships though, their refurbishment programme continues this month with them giving Britannia, their current flagship a bit of a refresh.
Britannia is only 4 years old at the moment but that has not stopped P&O cruises bringing her a few weeks to ensure that she is kept looking her best for years to come.
Later this month, the ship will emerge from the yard with new interiors and new details befitting a five-star hotel at sea.
The main focus will be to rejuvenate the already stunning atrium with a new eye-catching colour scheme, fresh design direction, relaxed entertainment, live music and informal performances all under the sparkling Starburst chandelier.
In addition, Britannia will welcome a new permanent new art gallery, a spruced-up spa, an improved and extended shopping offering and a new Dixons electronics hub.
It all sounds great and as you can see from the teaser image of the new atrium, the ship is going to look better than ever.
Britannia will be back in Southampton on 23 October for a 2-night cruise to Bruges before it’s transatlantic crossing to the Caribbean for the winter season.
