Well, December is finally here and if your social calendar looks anything like mines then the next few weeks are going to be filled with events, parties and the all-important festivities that fall around Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. This barrage of social occasions calls for some serious thinking about your look.
Menswear in general may have got a lot more casual over the past few years with dressing down pretty well accepted most of the time, but there are different rules at Christmas. This is the one time of the year (aside from the odd wedding or summer function) where you are expected to really pull it out of the bag.
Your facial hair is of course just as important as that on your head. It might sound a little bit old fashioned but I’m very much an advocate of maintaining a well-groomed look. I may wear stubble pretty much all year round but I keep it tidy and maintain it every day by shaving around the edges with a razor and keeping the length short with my trimmer.
Some of you will of course, prefer the clean look. If you are going to get rid of all your stubble it’s very important to use a quality razor, as the last thing you want to do is leave yourself with nicks and cuts. That wouldn’t be a good party look at all. I’d suggest picking up a Dorco Classic razor as not only does it look the part but also its 7 precision-aligned blades will make light work of getting rid of your growth.
And when you finally arrive at that party what should be your drink of choice? Well who am I to tell you what to order but in my opinion there’s nothing like a well-made Negroni at this time of the year to perfectly compliment your elevated style.
