El Tony Mate Is Sending Eight Producers to Ibiza

Fancy swapping the bedroom studio for a villa in Ibiza? El Tony Mate’s Producer Academy is back for 2026, offering eight emerging electronic music producers the chance to spend a week on the island learning from some serious talent.

Ibiza has no shortage of opportunities to dance until sunrise, but this one is aimed firmly at the people making the music.

Following the success of its first edition, El Tony Mate is bringing back its Producer Academy for 2026, with eight up-and-coming electronic music producers from across Europe being invited to spend a week in Ibiza developing their skills alongside producers and DJs SKALA and Kid Simius.

The Academy runs from 1 to 7 October 2026, with the successful applicants getting a pretty enviable introduction to life in Ibiza. Flights, villa accommodation and food are included, alongside a programme focused on music production, the island’s electronic music scene and making connections with other emerging artists.

There is, naturally, a little work involved before the poolside sessions and boat trips.

To enter, producers have to create either an original track or remix using exclusive sample and stem packs supplied by SKALA and Kid Simius. Entries will then be assessed by the two coaches, El Tony Mate and project partner Beatport, with eight producers selected to take part.

Once in Ibiza, the focus shifts to developing their sound, from production and arrangement to mixing and sound design, alongside visits, activities, networking and access to artists and studios.

And this isn’t simply a week away with a few production workshops thrown in.

El Tony Mate says the Academy is designed to create longer-term opportunities for the producers involved, with potential follow-up support including label opportunities and access to the Beatport network.

The mentors are certainly well placed to offer some serious guidance.

Berlin-based DJ, producer and vocalist SKALA, who also heads up the Amaeo label, has developed a sound that blends organic percussion, glitchy elements, synthesised leads, heavy bass and atmospheric melodies. Her music has reached the Beatport Top 50 in Melodic Techno and Electronica, while her DJ schedule has taken her across Europe, India, Central America and the Middle East.

Then there’s Kid Simius, the Spanish producer and Jirafa Records label head known for his take on Italo and Balearic House, disco and live electronic music. His top 10 Spotify tracks have collectively passed 36 million streams, while his credits include releases on Watergate and a platinum-certified track. He has also played festivals including Sonar, Tomorrowland and Fusion.

For emerging producers, it’s a fairly unique combination of music education, networking and an all-expenses-paid week in one of electronic music’s most iconic destinations.

The El Tony Mate Producer Academy is part of the brand’s Culture Collective, which supports projects across electronic music, art, events and creativity.

Think you’ve got what it takes? Entries are open until 23 August 2026.
