Talisker just unveiled The Wild Blue, a limited-edition Single Malt that’s as much about flavour as it is about the future of our oceans. Crafted on the Isle of Skye and bottled in 100% recycled glass, this eco-forward release marks a new wave for the heritage Scotch brand — blending maritime tradition with sustainability and innovation.
In an industry first for Talisker, the whisky was finished for 16 months in red wine casks sourced from South Africa’s coastal vineyards, adding depth, oak, and a burst of dark fruit to its signature smoky profile. The result? A rich, sweetly smoked pour that hits like a bonfire on a remote Skye beach — wild, bold, and unmistakably coastal.
But this drop is about more than just taste. Teaming up with the Blue Marine Foundation, Talisker is donating £112,608 — regardless of sales — to support the restoration of oyster reefs and seagrass meadows along the UK’s Solent coastline. Every bottle contributes £3 to the cause, with the goal of rebuilding ecosystems and boosting biodiversity where it’s needed most.
Sustainability is baked into the bottle too. From its fully recycled glass to carton-free packaging and ceramic-printed design, The Wild Blue picks up where Talisker’s Wilder Seas left off — cutting waste while turning heads.
To mark the launch, Talisker is hosting The Wild Blue Challenge on 6th June — a high-impact ocean swim ahead of World Ocean Day. For every kilometre completed, the brand will donate an extra £150 to Blue Marine. Details will drop soon via @Talisker on Instagram.
The Wild Blue is available now at select retailers including The Whisky Exchange, The Whisky Shop, Master of Malt, and Malts.com, priced at £82.
