The Henri Lloyd Consort is not a new style, it’s actually been kicking around since it was first launched in 1965 by My Henri but it has definitely been given an injection of modern styling as it has evolved. The original Consort was crafted as a piece of equipment to protect explorers from the most extreme weathers and featured Mr Henri’s pioneering waterproof fabrication at its core.
The 2017 Consort draws on that same ethos of protecting the wearing from the elements but also features a refreshed design and the latest fabric innovations. In fact for the rebooted Consort, Henri Lloyd have enlisted 5 designers to create their individual interpretations of the jacket. The results have of this process have seen the Consort available in a variety of styles, materials and colours giving you a choice from wool, waxed and rubber outers among others.
Choosing my favourite was not easy but in the end the Rubber Soul Consort edged it for me. I think it looks like the most modern and dynamic from the collection and I loved the black 100% rubber outer sitting on top of the hidden shiny silver lining. It’s a very edgy but still understated design and will have you covered no matter whether you are taking on a challenging outdoor activity or just a weekend wander in the park.
