We Love: Skincare, Candles, Sportswear and pals!

MP Velocity Sportswear Range

There’s nothing to get you geared up for a return to the gym like treating yourself to some items of new gym clothes. I recently tried a few of the key pieces of the black MP Velocity training range (shown above) and I absolutely loved both the fit and the comfortability.

Items in the range start at £30 for a training t-shirt and top out at £60 for a training jacket. My favourite piece from the range was the 2 in 1 shorts though, they are made from water repellent fabric on the outside and jersey on the inside. So there will be no chafing when wearing them. Result.

Murad Oil & Pore Control Mattifier SPF 45

This has been one of my hero skincare products for a couple of years now and as I’ve recently been asked by a few guys about dealing with oily skin, I thought it was time to let the secret out of the bag.

I use the Oil & Control Mattifier from Murad as a facial moisturiser every morning. It has SPF 45 within the formula so not only are you hydrating and minimising the appearance of pores and oil for the day, you are also protecting your skin. Win, win!

ClairnsMen Energising Eye Gel

This Energising Eye Gel from ClairnsMen is a new release this year and it uses organic red ginseng extract to boost the function of your skin cells.

I’ve tried countless eye products that claim to target and reduce dark circles and they can be a bit hit or miss but I have found this particular one to work for me. I really liked the refreshing and cooling effect from the rollerball applicator too. I found that applying it to my undereye area in the morning before I applied my moisturiser worked best.

Lalique Candles

I’ve become a bit of a candle Presario during the lockdown, I blame all the time at home. It’s amazing how lighting a luxurious candle in the evening can bring a totally different feel to your home, even if you have spent the whole day in it WFH.

Les Compositions Parfumées is the latest high-end home fragrance launch from Lalique and features 3 distinctive scents. I’m yet to try the other 2 but Sweet Amber has become an instant favourite. The white glass receptacle is filled with bright orange wax. It looks great as a pop of colour in a minimally styled room.

The scent is sweet, fresh and floral. The notes of jasmine sambac, tuberose, orange blossom make this the perfect summer evening scent for me.

£62 for 190g candle from Lalique

And finally…Seeing Friends again!

I couldn’t write a We Love feature this month without mentioning how amazing it is to make able to socialise (in the UK) again. After those long lockdown months, it’s so good to be back in the beer gardens, to be able to go for coffee with friends and very very soon be able to go see a movie at the cinema. We’re almost there guys!
