London commuters may already be well used to battling their way through the crowds every day on the tube ride to and from work but anyone passing St Katherine’s Dock on the way home yesterday may have been caught up in a battle with a difference.
For the first time since the Middle Ages an army of Knights descended on London to fend off some pretty giant 10ft tall monsters but don’t worry this was just a stunt to promote the popular, real-time strategy game, Clash of Kings.
Confused passersby had to look twice as they witnessed the ‘army’ matching across Tower Bridge and Potters Field to the location of their battle on the bank of the River Thames. Some members of the public were even enlisted to help with the effort, choosing to swap their suits and briefcases for swords and armour… and who can blame them as it certainly beats the thought of another mundane day at the office!
Clash of Kings is already a favourite of London commuters with a whopping 65% of their total users being such who play the game on their journey to work. It was awarded “Facebook Game of the Year 2015” and nominated for “Best Game” category in the Googleplay Awards. Clash of Kings’ players span over 155 countries and the game is currently one of the top five game played in nearly a third of these markets.
I reckon it might be time I gave Clash of Kings a try for myself and thankfully it is free to download for both iOS and Android devices so even if you missed the battle at Tower Bridge you can still get involved with the action!
