David Beckham has this afternoon signed for PSG and has pledged to donate his salary from the 5 month stint at the club to a Paris children’s charity. “I won’t receive any salary – we have decided my salary will go towards a local children’s charity in Paris and that is one of the things we are very excited and proud to do,” he said.
Despite a number of offers for the former England captain he was unveiled by the French Ligue 1 outfit as their latest signing. Beckham has been keen to relocate his family to London and this will now be possible with his new club being just a short flight away. Victoria and the children will be based in the UK for schooling purposes he added.
Beckham has been training with Arsenal since being released by Major League side LA Galaxy in December and insists it will not take him long to regain his fitness. The move means a return back to Champions League football for the former LA Galaxy star with PSG who are soon to face Valencia in the last 16 stage of the competition.
