When Billie Eilish was unveiled as the artist that would be behind the theme tune for the forthcoming Bond movie ‘To Time To Die’ social media was quick to announce that she was not the right person for the job.
Has Billie Eilish proven them wrong? After listening to just the intro of ‘No Time To Die’, I knew that they were. This is an absolute classic theme and has that unmistakable James Bond sound.
The track pays tribute to Bond themes of the past with the gentle violin and throng of the electric guitar running throughout. I’m getting a real Lana Del Rey vibe from the vocal too.
Eilish gives away a bit of insight into the possible movie too with lyrics like, ‘I’ve fallen for a lie, you were never on my side’. Does this indicate (as many believe) that Daniel Craig will be double-crossed in the new film? It certainly sounds likely.
Billie Eilish will perform the track live for the first time at the Brit Awards in London next week accompanied by Hans Zimmer and Jimmy Marr.
The new Bond film, ‘No Time To Die’ hits UK cinemas on April 3rd, 2020.
