M&S Taps Aries to Rework Its Iconic St Michael Archive

M&S has teamed up with cult London label Aries for a new 26-piece collection that puts a distinctly modern spin on the retailer’s iconic St Michael archive.

The collaboration sees Aries founder Sofia Prantera draw on M&S’s heritage, reworking everything from classic pinstripe tailoring and striped shirts to tracksuits, graphic tees, knitwear and accessories.

There are plenty of nods to the archive throughout, including updated St Michael branding, vintage-inspired crests and graphics, while the iconic M&S green carrier bag gets a particularly cool leather makeover. Even Spencer Bear makes an appearance as an oversized bag charm.

The collection strikes a nice balance between M&S nostalgia and Aries’ more rebellious streetwear aesthetic, giving some of the retailer’s most recognisable details a contemporary update.

Prices start at £10, with the collection topping out at £150.

The M&S x Aries collection launches on 20 August online and in selected M&S stores.
