Holiday packing is a nightmare. It can’t just be me who hates even the thought of trying to cram a case full of gear to see you through your jollys. Much like that go to pair of jeans you have in the wardrobe that always end up coming out on every night out it is likely that on holiday you will quickly establish a go to pair of shorts. An easy way to cut down on the stuff you take away with you is to find a versatile style of shorts that you can mix and match with a few different looks.
This season the shops are full of denim shorts in just about every fit imaginable. much like your jeans you can find denim shorts in regular, skinny, spray on, short, shorter, longer length and the rest. Just like when shopping for jeans take your body shape into consideration when picking out the ideal style for you. I have opted for this slightly shorter in length pair of grey denim shorts from Topman which come in at 28 quid.
Grey matches with just about anything and the fact that they are denim means they can easily be styled up for evening or down for daytime. My first look (shown above) teams the shorts with a plain white t-shirt, a lightweight black bomber, slip on Vans and a pair wayfarer sunglasses. A great look for travelling to your destination allowing you to lose the jacket (if you are going somewhere hot) on arrival.
If monochrome is not the look for you (you’re on holiday after all) then one quick change gives the outfit a completely new dimension indeed. Lose the jacket and instead layer it up with a loose-fitting printed short-sleeved shirt like the rather colourful one I have chosen here which is again from Topman. No need to change the shoes as just like the shorts the slip on leather Vans go with just about any look.
For the third and final look I went a little more casual. This time I ditched the white t-shirt and threw on a nylon baseball style jersey form SikSilk instead. A nice loose-fitting style too which is nice to wear in the warmer climates. Again I stuck with the slip on’s but this would be great worn with some hi-top converse too.
We want to see you look too so make sure that you let us see your summer look with us by using the hashtag #TopmanShorts on twitter or Instagram.
