The Friday Five: The Underwear Edition

For the first Friday Five of 2024, we’re throwing focus on to an area of clothing that often gets overlooked, underwear. Just because no one sees it (or not many people) doesn’t mean that you should not pay attention to your undergarments. First of all, comfort is key. I’m sure we have all experienced the torture of an ill-fitting pair of boxers or an itchy label on a t-shirt or vest. It’s an easy way to ruin your day.

So take note, here’s a rundown of some of our favourite underwear brands at the moment…

DKNY Lawrence Boxers

I must admit, DKNY is not an underwear brand that I had ever tried until recently but these soft-cotton stretch trunks have become an instant favourite. The Lawrence boxers are a comfortable trunk fit that hold their shape well throughout the course of the day.

£36 for a 3 pack from Very.

Blake Mill Cotton T-Shirts

Finding a great quality cotton t-shirt as a base layer of an outfit can sometimes be trickier than it sounds. I prefer something lightweight, breathable, well fitting and soft to the touch. Blake Mill have a super soft organic cotton t-shirt that ticks all of my boxes. It’s available in 4 neutral colours and comes in a regular fit. For layering under shirts and jumpers or just worn on it’s own, this style is a winner.

Falke Airport Socks

When it comes to socks there are few brands with a reputation for quality that beats Falke. Falke were founded in Germany in 1895 and since then have perfected the art of socks. For men, the Airport style is a great option for work, leisure or both. They are made from merino wool and cotton flor a super soft perfect fit. they come in an abundance of colours too, so no matter your outfit, you can find a complimentary pair.

Step One Boxer Briefs

I do a lot of HIIT training and Step One boxer briefs have become an essential part of my gym kit. They’re built with custom Ultraglyde panels to stop chaffing and riding up. The bamboo fabric that they are constructed of also helps to wick away sweat. The 3D pouch also keeps your boys snug even during the most energetic of fitness session. Winner, winner!

Philips OneBlade Pro Face & Body

Ok, it’s not technically underwear but keeping your body hair in check is an important part of dressing and for that reason I’m including my favourite body groomer.

The Philips OneBlade Pro is one of the easiest and most effective of all of the groomers that I’ve ever tested. It’s quite impossible to make a mess of things even if you are a newbie. The OneBlade Pro is a hybrid shaver so you can use it to tame your beard as well as using it to keep on top of your body hair so it’s a great little investment.
