A couple of weeks back I accepted a rather nice invitation from Timex to head down to London and check out their brand new summer watch collection. Over the course of 2 days, Timex had organised plenty of activities to showcase the Fairfield Weekend collection that had just launched with a variety of simple face designs and interchangeable fabric and leather straps.
To kick the trip off I checked into the luxurious Mondrian hotel on London’s Southbank. A hotel that I had been literally dying to check out since it opened just to marvel at the beautiful (ship-inspired) interiors that were created by one of my favourite designers, Tom Dixon. One of the hotels stands out features is the top floor Rumpus Room bar and event space which boasts uninterrupted views of the London skyline stretching from Westminster all the way along to the City. On a lovely day, it truly is a sight worth seeing.
It was in the Rumpus Room that the new Timex Fairfield collection was unveiled and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a beautiful personalised watch with my initials on the strap. Over lunch, I had a chance to take a good look at the various new models on offer as well as a chance to catch up with a few blogger Chums like Matthew Pike and Joey London. Afterwards, it was on to Borough Market for a multi-sensory tour of the market stalls on offer (with plenty of tasting opportunities) which serve up everything from fresh meat and veg to seafood, sweets and craft goods. A worthwhile place to visit should you find yourself with a little time to kill in London.
That evening saw the official launch party of the new watch range which took place on the rooftop at Shoreditch House of course! Unfortunately, it was raining (it’s London after all) but that did not dampen the party mood as the party was packed with fashionistas, bloggers and the likes.
A Mix Your Watch Bar had been set up to give the attendees a chance to style their own summer Timex watch combination which seemed to be very well received. I spotted a few variations selected by people which would give the official designs a run for their money.
The following morning the rest of the group had a few other activities lined up but I had to head back to Glasgow to celebrate my sister turning 30! So the Timex fun came to a slightly earlier halt for me, but there was still plenty of it!
