This Summer’s Weirdest Drink? YEW’s New Pickle Sparkling Water

If your social feeds are anything to go by, pickle is having a bit of a moment.

From burgers and sandwiches to cocktails and viral taste tests, the tangy flavour has been popping up everywhere. Now it’s found its way into sparkling water, with YEW launching what it says is the UK’s first pickle flavoured sparkling water.

Available from today, 1 July, exclusively at Planet Organic and via the YEW website, the new drink combines sparkling spring water with a splash of briny dill pickle, balanced with fresh cucumber notes and a crisp, tangy finish. It contains zero sugar, zero sweeteners, zero calories and no artificial ingredients.

Created by chef Jesse Jenkins, better known as A.D.I.P. (Another Day in Paradise), the drink taps into the recent appetite for bold, savoury flavours that have been doing the rounds online and in food culture more broadly. Whether the thought of pickle sparkling water has you reaching for a can or pulling a confused face, there’s no denying it’s one of this summer’s more unexpected launches.

The new addition joins YEW’s existing range of Pink Rhubarb, Green Apple and Yuzu Grapefruit, and makes a refreshing alternative to traditional soft drinks. YEW says the savoury profile works particularly well alongside summer barbecues, burgers, salads and noodle dishes.

Priced at £1.99 per can, YEW Pickle is available now, and is likely to be one of the most polarising drinks on shelves this summer.
