The Dalmore Adds Serious Depth With New 17 Year Old Single Malt

The Dalmore has expanded its Principal Collection with the addition of a new 17 Year Old single malt, a release that leans into the distillery’s long standing relationship with Sherry cask maturation.

Positioned as a deeper exploration of the brand’s Sherry driven house style, The Dalmore Aged 17 Years is built around a three cask finishing programme using rare Sherry casks sourced exclusively from González Byass. It follows initial maturation in American white oak ex bourbon barrels, laying down a familiar Dalmore base of soft vanilla and honey before the whisky is moved into Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem Oloroso casks.

Each cask plays a specific role. Apostoles brings structure and savoury depth. Amoroso bridges sweet and dry. Matusalem Oloroso adds weight and lingering richness. Together, they push the whisky into a darker, more layered space while staying true to the chocolate orange and soft spice notes that define the Dalmore profile.

On the nose there is Seville orange, orchard fruit and gentle wood spice. The palate moves into poached pear, forest berries, sweet toffee and orange marmalade. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate orange, dried fruit and subtle notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.

The presentation is characteristically polished. The whisky comes housed in a deep purple box with magnetic closure, with the brand’s signature bottle and silver stag front and centre. It feels in line with the Dalmore’s premium positioning without straying too far from the core range aesthetic.

Available in the UK from 28 January 2026, the Dalmore Aged 17 Years is bottled at 42 percent ABV in a 70cl format, priced at £175.
